Transfer to 35 mm?

Just curious how the transfer to 35 mm went. I've always wrestled with the idea of shooting on digital and transferring to film vs just shooting on film. I've heard a transfer can cost upwards of $30K. Is that more than it would have cost to just shoot on film? Do festivals like Sundance, Slamdance, etc. accept 16 mm?

We did a 3 minute test transfer to 35mm, but havent yet done a full transfer. The test looks great. I'm very happy with it.
Yeah, it's more to shoot film then to do a transfer. However film will look better.
Sundance, Slamdance, and most fests will accept/project 16mm, 35mm and digital. |
